Job Role Summary:

As a Chalet Chef, you’ll be the culinary heart of our chalet, providing exceptional dining experiences that enhance our guests’ holiday memories. You will prepare delicious breakfasts, afternoon teas, and three-course evening meals, all while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and service.
You will act as a friendly ambassador for Neilson, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that ensures guests feel at home. This varied role will also see you supporting the smooth running of the chalet, including shopping, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with allergen and health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Create a warm, welcoming chalet environment that exceeds guest expectations every day.
- Prepare and serve cooked and continental breakfasts, afternoon teas, and three-course evening meals (six days a week) using the Neilson Chalet Manual, core menus, and recipes within budget.
- Strictly adhere to all Neilson allergen guidelines, food safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Maintain chalet cleanliness and upkeep to company standards on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis.
- Manage chalet shopping, ordering, and budgeting in collaboration with your resort supervisor.
- Monitor and control chalet spending and utilities, ensuring efficient use while maintaining service quality.
- Ensure the chalet is a safe and secure environment for guests and staff, implementing all health and safety policies.
- Complete and submit all company paperwork accurately and on time, including financial accountability for company funds.
- Represent Neilson positively both in the chalet and around the resort, providing guests with helpful information and assistance.
- Assist with additional tasks to support smooth resort operations as directed, such as helping with luggage, ski fitting, or snow clearing.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Previous catering, hospitality, or customer service experience, ideally within a hotel or chalet environment.
- Basic numerical skills for budgeting and ordering.
- Experience working overseas is highly desirable.
- Skiing or snowboarding experience is a plus.
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.

- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Team player with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately.
