Job Introduction

HEAD TENNIS - RACKET SPORTS COACH

Location: Various Neilson Beach Clubs overseas
Season: April – November
Qualifications Required: RPT Level 2, LTA Level 2 or recognised equivalent tennis coaching qualification (see details below)
Eligibility: UK & EU passport holders
Salary: £800–£1,050 PCM gross, depending on resort, plus monthly commission, accommodation, meals, flights, and an excellent overall package.

As a UK-based business operating overseas, we’re able to arrange the required visas and work permits for UK and EU passport holders to work legally in our resorts.

As one of our management positions, priority will be given to candidates who are available for the full season.

You love being on court, working with different players and finding ways to help people improve – whether that’s an experienced player looking to sharpen their game or someone picking up a racket for the first time.

You’re confident leading other coaches, setting standards and helping people develop. You know how to give constructive feedback, share your experience and create an environment where your team feels supported, motivated and proud of what they deliver.

Personality matters. You’re confident, charismatic, engaging and energetic, with the ability to connect naturally with guests and bring the best out of the people around you.

You’re also organised, resilient and adaptable. You can manage a busy programme, solve problems, maintain high standards and stay calm when plans change.

Most importantly, you’ll lead from the front. You’ll still spend plenty of time coaching, interacting with guests and creating the energy around the courts that makes people want to get involved.

Role Overview

As Head Tennis & Racket Sports Coach, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of the Tennis & Racket Sports Programme within one of our Beach Clubs.

Working closely with the Activity Manager, you’ll lead and develop your coaching team, maintain coaching and operational standards, organise the programme, drive guest participation and make sure everyone stepping onto court has a brilliant experience.

You’ll regularly coach adults and juniors yourself, delivering group sessions, private coaching, premium coaching experiences, tournaments and social sessions alongside your team.

Our Tennis programme has been developed in collaboration with former world No. 80, GB Davis Cup player and Andy Murray coach Mark Petchey. We also work alongside RPT Europe founder Adrian Rattenbury, providing our coaches with additional support, development and training opportunities throughout the season.

Tennis remains at the heart of the programme, but with the continued growth of Padel and Pickleball, we’re excited to develop a broader racket sports offering across our Beach Clubs. Experience or qualifications in these areas are highly desirable but are not essential for the role.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead, motivate, support and develop the Tennis & Racket Sports Team throughout the season.
• Take day-to-day ownership of the Tennis & Racket Sports Programme.
• Maintain consistently high standards across coaching delivery, guest experience, health and safety and programme quality.
• Train, mentor and develop coaches throughout the season.
• Provide regular feedback and practical coaching support to help your team continually improve.
• Lead by example and create a positive, professional, energetic and supportive team environment.
• Deliver outstanding tennis coaching across a wide range of ages and abilities.
• Deliver group coaching, private lessons and premium coaching experiences.
• Adapt coaching sessions around different abilities, experience levels and individual guest objectives.
• Support the development and delivery of Padel and Pickleball where facilities, programmes and suitably qualified coaches are available.
• Drive participation and encourage guests to get involved in the programme.
• Build positive relationships with guests and create a welcoming environment both on and off court.
• Organise and oversee tournaments, social sessions and racket sports events.
• Support the commercial success of the programme through private coaching and other commission-generating services.
• Ensure courts, facilities, equipment and storage areas remain clean, organised, safe and well maintained.
• Monitor equipment levels and coordinate ordering, maintenance and replacement requirements.
• Maintain appropriate departmental administration and operational records.
• Work closely with the Activity Manager and wider resort team.
• Support resort set-up and close-down at the beginning and end of the season.
• Support guest briefings, social events, airport transfers and wider resort operations when required.
• Lead by example and get stuck into resort life throughout the season.

• Can adapt your coaching style around different ages, abilities and individual objectives.
• Have experience delivering high-quality group and private coaching.
• Are confident organising and managing a busy coaching programme.
• Can provide constructive feedback and help less-experienced coaches develop their confidence and ability.
• Are an excellent communicator who naturally connects with guests and your team.
• Have a confident, engaging and approachable personality.
• Are organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
• Stay calm, professional and solutions-focused when challenges arise.
• Have a strong work ethic and enjoy leading from the front.
• Are resilient, adaptable and happy to get involved in wider resort life.
• Can confidently coach and communicate in English.

It’d be a bonus if you also have…

• RPT Level 3, LTA Level 3 or recognised equivalent.
• A recognised Padel coaching qualification.
• A recognised Pickleball coaching qualification.
• Experience coaching Padel and/or Pickleball.
• Coaching experience across more than one racket sport.
• Previous Head Coach, Tennis Manager, Racket Sports Manager or Tennis Director experience.
• Experience managing a tennis or racket sports programme.
• Experience delivering premium or intensive coaching programmes.
• Previous holiday, club, academy or resort experience.
• Previous overseas or seasonal experience.

As a minimum, you must hold:

We also welcome recognised Irish, European and international tennis coaching qualifications, including equivalent awards from RPT, PTR, USPTA, Tennis Ireland and other recognised national governing bodies.

First Aid Requirements

A First Aid certificate is mandatory for the Head Tennis & Racket Sports Coach role.

At a minimum, this must be a one-day, in-person Emergency First Aid at Work course.

Your certificate must be in place by your start date and remain valid for the duration of your contract.

If you haven’t yet completed your First Aid qualification but are booked onto or planning to complete the required course before your start date, you can still apply – just provide the details and expected completion date within your application.

Commission

Alongside your salary, you’ll have the opportunity to earn individual commission each month through:

• Private coaching lessons.
• Racket re-strings.

The more you engage with guests and build demand for additional coaching, the greater the opportunity to increase your monthly earnings.
