Job Introduction

CHILDREN’S CLUB SUPERVISOR

Location: Various Neilson Beach Clubs overseas
Season: April – November
Experience Required: Previous experience working with children or young people, with supervisory, mentoring or leadership potential
Eligibility: UK & EU passport holders
Salary: £800 PCM gross, plus shared accommodation, meals, flights, and an excellent overall package.

As a UK-based business operating overseas, we’re able to arrange the required visas and work permits for UK and EU passport holders to work legally in our resorts.

In a Nutshell
  • Take the next step in your childcare or activity career as part of the leadership team in one of our Beach Clubs.
  • Help lead and support one of the largest teams in resort, creating brilliant holiday experiences for children and young people aged 4 months to 17 years.
  • Stay hands-on with activities while developing valuable leadership, safeguarding and people-management experience.
  • Build the skills and confidence that could take you towards a Children’s Club Manager role in future seasons.

About Us

For almost 50 years, Neilson has been creating unforgettable active holidays in some incredible Beach Club destinations.

From sailing and watersports to tennis, fitness, biking and much more, our guests are at the centre of everything we do.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, adaptable people with great personalities, a strong work ethic and a genuine passion for creating brilliant holiday experiences.

Our Children’s Club is a huge part of the Neilson family holiday. When parents know their children are safe, happy and having an amazing time, they can relax and enjoy everything else their holiday has to offer.

As Children’s Club Supervisor, you’ll help make that happen while developing your own leadership skills and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

About You

You’re confident, approachable, organised and brilliant with people.

You already have good experience working with children or young people and you’re ready to take on more responsibility.

You’ll understand that creating an incredible Children’s Club experience means getting two things absolutely right: children need to have a brilliant time, and their parents need to feel completely confident that they’re in safe hands.

You’ll enjoy leading by example, supporting other team members, sharing your experience and helping people develop. At the same time, you’ll still love getting stuck into activities and being part of the fun.

You’re comfortable speaking with parents and carers, dealing with different situations and staying calm when a busy day throws something unexpected your way.

You don’t necessarily need years of formal management experience. If you’ve started mentoring, supervising or taking responsibility for other people and can demonstrate the maturity, judgement and potential to take the next step, we want to hear from you.

Most importantly, you’ll bring plenty of energy, a strong work ethic, good judgement and a genuine desire to help create unforgettable holidays for children and families.

Role Overview

As Children’s Club Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Children’s Club Manager to help run the day-to-day Children’s Club operation.

You’ll support a diverse team that may include Children’s Activity Leaders and Early Years Qualified Practitioners, helping everyone deliver safe, engaging and age-appropriate experiences throughout the season.

This is very much a hands-on leadership role.

You’ll still deliver activities and spend plenty of time with our younger guests, while also supporting team development, programme delivery, safeguarding standards, facilities, equipment and the smooth running of the department.

No two days will look quite the same.

You might start the day helping your team prepare activities, spend the afternoon supporting programme delivery and talking with parents, then help bring a family event to life later that evening.

It’s an ideal opportunity to take your first proper step into leadership without leaving behind the hands-on side of working with children that you enjoy.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Support, motivate and develop the Children’s Club Team.
  • Assist the Children’s Club Manager with the day-to-day running of the department.
  • Deliver safe, engaging and age-appropriate activities for children and young people aged 4 months to 17 years.
  • Support the delivery of daytime and evening Children’s Club programmes.
  • Maintain excellent standards of safeguarding, child welfare, safety and professional practice.
  • Build positive relationships with children, young people, parents, carers and families.
  • Help make sure individual needs, routines and welfare requirements are understood and managed appropriately.
  • Support the onboarding, training, mentoring and development of team members throughout the season.
  • Lead by example and help your team maintain consistently high standards.
  • Step up and take greater responsibility when required.
  • Support the Children’s Club Manager with planning, organisation and day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Make sure Children’s Club facilities, toys, equipment and activity areas are safe, clean, organised and well maintained.
  • Monitor equipment and supplies and report maintenance or stock requirements.
  • Help organise and host family activities, guest briefings, social events and resort-wide experiences.
  • Follow all company operating procedures, safeguarding responsibilities and health and safety standards.
  • Support daily activity set-up and pack-down, as well as resort set-up and close-down at the beginning and end of the season.
  • Assist with airport transfers and wider resort operations when required.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider resort team and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture.

Skills & Experience
You’ll be great at this if you…
  • Have previous experience working with children or young people in childcare, education, coaching, youth work, holiday clubs, camps, activity programmes or a similar environment.
  • Have some experience supporting, mentoring, supervising or leading other people.
  • Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare best practice.
  • Are confident delivering fun, safe and engaging activities.
  • Communicate brilliantly with children, young people, parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Are organised, proactive and comfortable taking responsibility.
  • Can remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Have good judgement and can make sensible decisions when things don’t quite go to plan.
  • Are patient, considerate and empathetic.
  • Enjoy supporting other people and helping them develop.
  • Are happy leading when required but equally willing to get stuck in alongside the team.
  • Have a strong work ethic and a positive, adaptable approach.
  • Are willing to listen, learn and continue developing your own leadership skills.
  • Have a genuine passion for creating exceptional experiences for children and families.
  • Have a good standard of spoken English.
It’d be a bonus if you also have…
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • An Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above, or recognised equivalent.
  • Experience working across different children’s age groups.
  • Experience delivering holiday clubs, camps, childcare services or activity programmes.
  • Experience training, mentoring or developing team members.
  • Previous overseas, resort, hospitality or seasonal work experience.
  • Additional European language skills.

Qualifications & Experience

There is no single childcare qualification required for the Children’s Club Supervisor role.

We’re interested in experienced childcare and activity professionals who can demonstrate strong people skills, safeguarding knowledge, leadership potential and a genuine passion for working with children and families.

An Early Years qualification at Level 3 or above, or recognised equivalent, is highly desirable but not essential.

We also welcome applications from candidates with relevant UK and internationally recognised childcare, education, coaching, activity, youth work and leadership qualifications.

If you’re currently working towards, booked onto or planning to complete a relevant qualification before your start date, please provide the details and expected completion date within your application.

This is very much a development role. You don’t need to arrive as a fully experienced manager – we’re looking for people with the right foundations, attitude and potential to step up, take responsibility and continue developing throughout the season.

First Aid Requirements

A full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid qualification is mandatory for the Children’s Club Supervisor role.

If you haven’t yet completed your Paediatric First Aid qualification but are booked onto or planning to complete the required course before your start date, you can still apply – just provide the details and expected completion date within your application.

ONLINE-ONLY FIRST AID COURSES ARE NOT ACCEPTED
